1991 BMW E34 M5

This 1991 BMW E34 M5 is one of only 70 Australian delivered cars with a build date of 09/1990.

It is the last of the hand-built M5’s as well as the last normally aspirated inline six.  Even more desirable is the Diamond Schwarz exterior on black interior.  Sold new by Trivett Classic in Parramatta, Sydney in May 1991, it is believed to have had only two owners.

The original owner kept the service records up to date until August 2000 and 253,991km.  The second owner brought the car to Canberra at that time and continued to service the vehicle at BMW specialists and the car currently has 392,000km on the clock.  This is mostly highway travelling and the car’s condition carries the mileage exceptionally well.  The car has had limited use in the last 4 years with only 1,200km covered in that time.  All original books and a folder of receipts come with the car.

We have recently mechanically recommissioned the car with a full engine service, Injector service and replaced the heater core which was leaking.  The car runs and drives exceptionally well for its age with suspension work having been completed prior to the last service in 2021.  The engine is strong and it pulls like it should all the way to the red line.  Its really impressive!

The original paintwork is still very good and there are minor blemishes which are expected on a car of this age and mileage.  The interior is very neat and the leather seats in good shape with no tears or major marks.  All electrics work including the sunroof which both slides and tilts.

Yes, the mileage is high, but don’t let that put you off.  It’s still a real drivers car that will put a smile on your face every time you drive it.  It is currently still registered in the ACT and is also eligible for Historic Club Membership
